Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi on Monday filed a plea seeking transfer of the CBI and Enforcement Directorate cases registered against her to another court, alleging bias in the current proceedings.
Rabri Devi, who is named as an accused in four cases including the land-for-jobs scam and the IRCTC scam, submitted before the Principal District and Sessions Judge that she has a bonafide and reasonable apprehension that fair and impartial justice will not be rendered by the present court.
The plea contends that the conduct of Special Judge Vishal Gogne during hearings appears unduly inclined towards the prosecution, citing several instances from the case proceedings to support the claim. It argues that in the interest of justice, the matters should be transferred to another court.
The cases, which involve allegations of corruption and irregularities during the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav as Railway Minister, are currently being heard before Special Judge Vishal Gogne. The petition marks a significant development in the ongoing trials, raising questions of judicial impartiality in high-profile corruption cases.
