On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, Union Health Minister has urged citizens to adopt better oral hygiene practices to prevent dental diseases and improve overall well-being.
Highlighting the importance of oral health as a gateway to general health, the Minister emphasized that simple habits such as brushing twice a day, regular dental check-ups, and reducing sugar intake can significantly lower the risk of cavities and gum disease.
The Health Ministry has also encouraged schools, community groups, and healthcare institutions to spread awareness about oral hygiene, noting that preventive care is more effective and affordable than treatment of advanced dental problems.
World Oral Health Day is observed globally on March 20 to promote awareness about oral health and its impact on quality of life. This year’s theme focuses on empowering individuals to take charge of their oral hygiene through education and daily practices.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening dental care facilities across the country and called upon citizens to make oral hygiene a priority for themselves and their families.
