Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir conducted a detailed review of security and logistical preparedness at key transit camps ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2026. The inspection focused on facilities at major halting stations, including deployment of security personnel, medical aid availability, crowd management, and emergency response mechanisms.
Officials briefed the IGP on measures to ensure smooth passage of pilgrims, highlighting coordination between police, civil administration, and health services. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening surveillance, communication systems, and supply of essential services like water, electricity, and sanitation at transit points.
The IGP directed officers to maintain high vigilance, streamline traffic management, and ensure that all arrangements are in place to safeguard devotees during the sacred journey. The review underlined the administration’s commitment to providing a secure and well-organised pilgrimage experience.
