External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed deep shock and grief over the tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia that claimed the lives of several Indian pilgrims. Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, he assured that the Government of India is closely monitoring the situation and providing all necessary assistance.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that 24×7 control rooms have been activated both in New Delhi and at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to facilitate communication and support for affected families. Officials are coordinating with Saudi authorities to ensure expeditious repatriation of the victims’ bodies and medical care for the injured.
The EAM emphasized that the government remains committed to extending full humanitarian support during this difficult time. The activation of emergency helplines underscores India’s proactive response to safeguard the welfare of its citizens abroad.
