Indian Navy’s frontline guided‑missile frigate INS Trikand has arrived at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as part of its ongoing deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region. The port call aims to strengthen maritime cooperation and deepen bilateral ties between India and Tanzania.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the visit includes professional interactions and joint training activities with the Tanzania Navy to enhance interoperability and maritime coordination. The crew will also participate in social and community engagements, including friendly sports fixtures and yoga sessions.
A cultural evening will be hosted onboard INS Trikand to promote goodwill and people‑to‑people connections. Critical stores ferried from India will also be handed over during the visit, reflecting India’s commitment to supporting regional partners.
