India and Trinidad & Tobago signed eight agreements during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s visit, strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
The agreements cover tourism, healthcare, infrastructure, solarisation, vector control, and the establishment of an Ayurveda Chair at the University of the West Indies.
Key initiatives include the renovation of Nelson Island, solarisation of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs building, and the launch of a National Prosthetics Centre in Penal.
India also handed over 2,000 laptops to schoolchildren and inaugurated an agro-processing facility with machinery worth USD 1 million.
The visit reaffirmed India–Trinidad & Tobago ties, highlighting shared heritage, diaspora engagement, and collaboration in regional and multilateral forums.
