Port Louis, November 6, 2025 — Indian Naval Ship INS Savitri hosted local dignitaries, defence officials, and community representatives during its port call in Mauritius, underscoring India’s commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation and regional friendship.
The visit featured guided tours of the vessel, cultural exchanges, and discussions on joint training and humanitarian assistance. Naval officers from both countries highlighted the importance of collaboration in ensuring maritime security and disaster response in the Indian Ocean Region.
INS Savitri’s presence in Mauritius is part of India’s broader outreach under SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region), aimed at fostering goodwill, capacity-building, and strategic ties with island nations.
Officials from the Indian High Commission and Mauritian government praised the engagement as a symbol of enduring bilateral relations and shared values in peacekeeping and maritime stewardship.
