Bahrain has said that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have successfully intercepted more than 900 missiles, around 2,500 drones, and 17 aircraft launched by Iran amid heightened regional tensions.
According to Bahraini officials, the interceptions were carried out through coordinated air defence operations involving multiple GCC member states, demonstrating what they described as a high level of preparedness and joint security cooperation in the Gulf region.
The Bahraini government said the intercepted missiles and drones were aimed at military and strategic targets across several Gulf countries, posing a serious threat to civilian safety, infrastructure and regional stability. Officials credited advanced defence systems and intelligence-sharing mechanisms for preventing significant damage.
Bahrain warned that Iran’s actions represent a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law, calling on the international community to take firm steps to deter further attacks and ensure respect for the sovereignty of Gulf states.
GCC countries reiterated their commitment to collective defence and said they would continue to take all necessary measures to protect their territories, populations and vital economic assets amid the ongoing crisis.
