Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will chair a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar today following the recent terror attack in Anantnag. The meeting is expected to assess the prevailing security situation in the Valley and review measures taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
Top officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration are likely to participate in the meeting. The discussions will focus on counter-terror operations, intelligence coordination and strengthening security arrangements across vulnerable areas.
The review comes after a targeted terror attack in Anantnag that led to the killing of a police personnel, triggering heightened security measures across south Kashmir. Security agencies have since intensified searches and operations to identify those involved in the attack and dismantle terror support networks.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor is expected to take a detailed briefing on the progress of ongoing investigations, security preparedness and steps being taken to ensure the safety of civilians and security personnel.
Officials said that the administration remains committed to taking strict action against terrorists and their associates while maintaining peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces have been directed to maintain close coordination and remain vigilant against any emerging threats.
