Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday announced that local and regional cuisines will soon be introduced on Vande Bharat trains, aiming to enhance the travel experience of passengers while showcasing India’s rich culinary diversity. He said the initiative reflects Indian Railways’ focus on providing world-class services with a distinct local flavour.
Speaking about the move, the Minister said passengers will be able to enjoy dishes inspired by the regions through which the trains operate, offering a taste of local culture during their journey. The plan is also expected to support local vendors and promote regional food traditions.
Ashwini Vaishnaw added that Indian Railways continues to modernise its services under the Vande Bharat programme, with an emphasis on comfort, quality and passenger satisfaction. The introduction of local cuisines is part of broader efforts to make train travel more enjoyable and culturally enriching.
