Doha, November 6, 2025 — Union Minister Jitendra Singh has called for a united Asian approach to address climate change and promote sustainable development, emphasizing the need for regional cooperation and shared innovation during his address at the Doha Social Development Summit.
Highlighting India’s commitment to environmental stewardship, Singh urged Asian nations to pool resources, exchange best practices, and adopt scalable green technologies to tackle climate-linked challenges. He stressed that climate resilience and sustainability must be central to development agendas across the region.
The minister outlined India’s initiatives in renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, and disaster preparedness, offering to collaborate with neighboring countries on joint research and capacity-building programs. He also advocated for inclusive policies that empower youth and marginalized communities in climate action.
Delegates from multiple Asian countries welcomed the proposal, noting the importance of regional solidarity in achieving global climate goals and advancing the UN Sustainable Development Agenda.
