Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has called for mission-mode health care reforms and accelerated efforts to achieve TB Mukt Bharat by 2027.
Speaking at a high-level review meeting with officials from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Minister emphasized the need for stronger drug regulation, improved diagnostics, and professionalized hospital administration.
Nadda directed states to strengthen Free Drugs and Free Diagnostics schemes by plugging supply-chain gaps and highlighted collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad to improve logistics, transparency, and accountability in procurement.
He stressed that quality diagnostics are the backbone of effective healthcare and urged expansion of diagnostic services across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
The Minister also underlined the importance of technology-driven solutions such as telemedicine and digital monitoring to enhance patient satisfaction and accountability.
The initiative reflects India’s commitment to eliminating tuberculosis by 2027, three years ahead of the global target, while simultaneously strengthening the overall healthcare system.
