Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday hit back at Union Minister J.P. Nadda over his remarks on the JKSSB paper leak issue, saying the dates mentioned in the statement were incorrect. Abdullah said the controversy related to the recruitment examination took place in 2022, when Jammu and Kashmir was under the Lieutenant Governor’s administration.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the elected government led by the National Conference came to power only in 2024 and had no role in the events surrounding the paper leak case. He said it was important to verify facts and timelines before making statements on such matters.
Abdullah was responding to comments made by Nadda regarding alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jammu and Kashmir. The JKSSB paper leak case had sparked anger among job aspirants, who demanded a transparent investigation and strict action against those responsible.
The Chief Minister also questioned the progress made in the investigation and sought clarity on the action taken against those involved in the recruitment controversy. He stressed that protecting the interests of young job seekers and ensuring fairness in recruitment processes should remain a priority.
The issue has once again triggered a political debate in Jammu and Kashmir, with leaders from different parties blaming each other over accountability for the recruitment irregularities.
