Punjab Police, in coordination with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), has uncovered a Pakistan ISI-backed terror module, arresting three operatives and seizing two hand grenades and a Glock pistol. The grenades carried Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) markings, confirming cross-border involvement in the plot.
According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Counter Intelligence Wing led the operation, which included the arrest of one accused from Ahmedabad in a joint action with Gujarat ATS. All three arrested individuals belong to the border districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the module was receiving directions from Pakistan Intelligence Operatives (PIOs) through social media platforms. The group was allegedly planning targeted attacks on police establishments across multiple states.
Officials said efforts are underway to identify additional operatives linked to the network. The successful operation marks a significant blow to cross-border terror attempts aimed at destabilising internal security.
