New Delhi, Dec 02: Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra today unveiled the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion 2025-30, outlining a roadmap to expand access to financial services across the country. The strategy aims to strengthen inclusive growth, promote digital financial literacy, and ensure that all segments of society benefit from the formal financial system.
Governor Malhotra highlighted that the new framework focuses on bridging gaps in access to banking, credit, insurance, and pension services, particularly for underserved populations in rural and semi-urban areas. The strategy also emphasises the role of technology, digital payments, and financial education in enhancing the reach and effectiveness of financial services.
Speaking at the launch, Sanjay Malhotra stressed that financial inclusion is critical for economic empowerment, reducing inequality, and supporting sustainable development. He outlined key objectives, including increasing adoption of digital banking, promoting financial literacy, and improving consumer protection measures.
Officials noted that the strategy will involve collaboration between the RBI, commercial banks, fintech companies, and government agencies to ensure coordinated efforts in extending financial services to all citizens. Periodic reviews and performance monitoring will help track progress and refine initiatives over the five-year period.
The National Strategy for Financial Inclusion 2025-30 is seen as a significant step in India’s ongoing efforts to make financial systems more accessible, transparent, and inclusive, reinforcing the RBI’s commitment to empowering individuals and businesses across the country.
