The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced revised dates for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, citing administrative adjustments and the need to streamline the examination process nationwide.
According to the revised schedule, the Class 10 examinations will now commence on February 21, 2026, and conclude on March 15, 2026. The Class 12 examinations will begin on February 22, 2026, and end on April 2, 2026. The updated timetable has been released on the official CBSE website for students, parents, and schools to access.
Officials clarified that the changes were made to avoid overlapping with competitive entrance tests and state-level examinations, ensuring smoother coordination for students appearing in multiple assessments during the same period.
The Board emphasised that practical examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 will be conducted in January 2026, as per the revised guidelines. Schools have been instructed to complete internal assessments and project work within the stipulated timeframe.
CBSE has urged students to carefully review the updated schedule and prepare accordingly. The Board also reiterated its commitment to conducting fair, transparent, and stress-free examinations across the country.
Education experts noted that the revised dates provide additional preparation time for students, while aligning the schedule with national-level academic planning.
