Union Culture Secretary Govind Mohan is set to review the final security blueprint for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra at the Police Headquarters in Srinagar.
The high-level meeting will focus on multi-layered security arrangements, including deployment of Central Armed Police Forces, J&K Police, Army units, drone surveillance, and CCTV monitoring along the pilgrimage routes.
Officials are expected to present detailed plans covering transit camps, base camps, and halting stations to ensure the safety and smooth movement of thousands of devotees.
The review will also emphasize coordination between civil administration, security agencies, and health departments to provide timely assistance and emergency response during the Yatra.
The Amarnath Yatra 2026 is scheduled to commence on July 3, with pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey to the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.
Govind Mohan’s review underlines the Centre’s commitment to ensuring a secure, peaceful, and well-organized pilgrimage experience for devotees.
