A new Yale Youth Poll has revealed growing discontent among young Americans toward President Donald Trump, with respondents expressing strong opposition to his legislative agenda and mixed views on U.S. foreign policy.
The survey found that Trump’s approval ratings among voters aged 18 to 34 have declined sharply. Many participants criticized the President’s flagship legislative package, referred to as the “Big Beautiful Bill,” viewing it as unfair and favoring wealthy interests.
“Young Americans sour on Trump, slam ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, split on Israel,” the poll summary noted, highlighting generational divides in political attitudes. While opposition to Trump’s domestic policies was widespread, opinions on U.S. policy toward Israel remained polarized within the youth demographic.
The Yale Youth Poll, conducted in Fall 2025, surveyed 3,426 registered voters, including 1,706 aged 18 to 34. The margin of error for the youth sample was ±2.4 percentage points. Nearly half of respondents said they wanted major change in the political system, reflecting frustration with current leadership.
Analysts suggest the findings could have significant implications for upcoming elections, as younger voters continue to play an increasingly influential role in shaping national politics. The poll underscores a generational shift, with youth discontent emerging as a decisive factor in the broader political landscape.
