Puducherry Chief Minister has written to the External Affairs Minister requesting urgent intervention for the release of 11 fishermen detained by the Sri Lankan Navy. The fishermen, hailing from Puducherry, were apprehended while fishing near the international maritime boundary line.
In his communication, the Chief Minister highlighted the plight of the families affected and stressed the need for immediate diplomatic efforts to secure their release. He urged the Ministry of External Affairs to take up the matter with Sri Lankan authorities at the earliest.
