Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla on June 16 chaired a high-level review meeting to assess security and logistical readiness for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination scheduled on June 21, 2026.
The meeting brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Education, National Testing Agency (NTA), and law enforcement agencies to ensure foolproof arrangements across 551 exam cities in India and 14 abroad.
Discussions focused on enhanced security deployment, coordination with district administrations, and strict monitoring to prevent irregularities. The Home Secretary directed agencies to maintain seamless communication with candidates and parents to counter misinformation.
Officials confirmed that exam city intimation slips have already been issued, with admit cards to follow shortly. The emphasis was on leveraging technology, ensuring transparency, and providing logistical support for smooth conduct of the re-exam.
The review underscored the government’s commitment to safeguarding students’ interests and restoring confidence after earlier irregularities, with all agencies instructed to work in close coordination for successful execution.
