Indian Railways has announced that more than one lakh artisans across the country have received direct benefits under the One Station One Product (OSOP) scheme. The initiative, launched to promote local crafts and products, has provided artisans with dedicated stalls at railway stations, enabling them to showcase and sell their goods to a wider audience.
Officials highlighted that the scheme has created new opportunities for traditional craftsmen, weavers, and small-scale producers by connecting them to millions of passengers daily. The program aims to boost rural and regional economies while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.
Under OSOP, railway stations serve as platforms for promoting indigenous products ranging from handicrafts and handlooms to local specialties and agro-based items. The scheme has been widely appreciated for empowering artisans and enhancing visibility for local industries.
Indian Railways reiterated its commitment to expanding the initiative further, ensuring that more artisans benefit from increased market access and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
