At least nine people were killed and 26 others injured after a passenger bus met with a tragic accident in southern Türkiye. The bus, which was travelling from Tekirdağ to Antalya, reportedly lost control, skidded off the road and overturned into a ravine in the Döşemealtı district of Antalya province.
According to officials, the accident occurred under adverse weather conditions, with wet roads and fog reducing visibility. Preliminary reports suggest that the bus may have been travelling at high speed when it failed to negotiate a curve, hit roadside barriers and plunged into the ravine.
Emergency response teams, including firefighters, medical personnel and disaster management units, rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. The injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospitals, with several reported to be in critical condition. The bus driver was among those who lost their lives in the crash.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Officials said further details would emerge after technical inspections and statements from survivors are reviewed.
