Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome today to discuss the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and review the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–2029.
The talks will focus on enhancing trade, defence, clean energy, and technology cooperation, while also strengthening connectivity and infrastructure under the IMEC framework.
Both leaders are expected to assess progress in bilateral ties, with India–Italy trade reaching USD 16.77 billion in 2025 and Italian FDI in India standing at USD 3.66 billion.
PM Modi will also visit the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters in Rome to reaffirm India’s commitment to global food security and multilateral cooperation.
This meeting marks the final leg of Modi’s five-nation tour, underscoring India’s growing diplomatic engagement with Europe amid global geopolitical challenges.
