The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully secured the deportation of cyber fraud accused Ganesh Balaso Kale from Thailand, marking another milestone in India’s crackdown on transnational crime.
Kale, wanted in multiple cyber fraud cases, was apprehended in Thailand following coordinated efforts between Indian and Thai authorities. He was deported to India and taken into custody upon arrival, where he will face trial for his alleged involvement in large-scale online fraud operations.
The CBI highlighted that Kale’s deportation underscores India’s growing success in pursuing fugitives abroad, reinforcing its credibility in international law enforcement collaboration. Officials noted that the case sends a strong message to cybercrime networks that fugitives cannot evade justice by fleeing overseas.
This development comes amid India’s intensified efforts to tackle cyber fraud and financial crimes, with over 150 fugitives extradited or deported in recent years through diplomatic and law enforcement cooperation.
