Srinagar, July 1: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, today inspected security arrangements at the Baltal and Manigam transit camps ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra. He reviewed deployment plans, crowd management measures, and emergency response systems to ensure smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
During the visit, Kumar interacted with officers on ground, checked surveillance setups, and emphasized coordination between police, paramilitary forces, and civil administration. He directed officials to maintain strict vigil and ensure facilities for pilgrims remain secure and accessible.
The inspection comes as part of the broader security preparedness across Jammu & Kashmir, with multi-layered arrangements being put in place to safeguard the yatra beginning July 3.
