Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has reaffirmed India’s commitment to further strengthening its economic partnership with Singapore, with a focus on expanding trade, investment and business cooperation between the two countries.
Goyal highlighted the strong economic relationship between India and Singapore and stressed the importance of exploring new opportunities to deepen bilateral commercial ties. He said both countries have significant potential to work together in emerging sectors and create new avenues for businesses and investors.
The Minister emphasised the need to build on the existing partnership by encouraging greater investment flows and strengthening cooperation across key areas of the economy. He also underlined the importance of creating an environment that supports innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth.
India and Singapore share close economic and strategic ties, with Singapore playing an important role as a major investment partner and a gateway for Indian businesses looking to expand their presence in Southeast Asian markets.
Goyal said continued engagement between the two countries can help unlock fresh opportunities for companies, strengthen supply chains and promote greater integration between the two economies.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of cooperation in areas that can contribute to future economic growth. Both sides have been working to strengthen business-to-business engagement and identify new sectors where bilateral collaboration can be expanded.
The Union Minister reiterated that India remains committed to working closely with Singapore to build a stronger, more resilient and mutually beneficial economic partnership. He said closer cooperation would contribute to greater trade and investment opportunities for both countries.
The renewed emphasis on economic ties comes as India continues to expand its engagement with key partners in Southeast Asia and seeks to strengthen its position in global trade and investment networks.
