Srinagar, November 1, 2025 — The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has announced a change in school timings across the region, effective immediately.
As per the new schedule, schools operating in the Kashmir Valley will now follow revised hours to accommodate seasonal shifts and ensure student safety and comfort.
For schools located in Srinagar city and other urban areas, classes will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM. In rural and far-flung areas, the timing has been adjusted from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Officials stated that the decision was taken in view of changing daylight hours and dropping temperatures, which affect morning travel and attendance.
All government and private institutions have been directed to adhere strictly to the revised schedule. Any deviation may attract administrative action.
Parents and guardians are advised to stay in touch with school authorities for any further updates or adjustments based on local conditions.
