New Delhi, November 4, 2025 — The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced a two-phase schedule for the 2025–26 edition of the Indian Women’s League (IWL), aiming to enhance competitiveness and visibility in women’s football across the country.
The first phase will feature regional qualifiers, allowing clubs from various states to compete for a spot in the national round. The second phase will comprise the final league stage, where qualified teams will battle for the championship title in a centralized venue.
AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey emphasized that the revised format is designed to promote grassroots participation and ensure broader representation. “This structure will help identify talent from across India and provide them with a platform to shine,” he said.
The federation also confirmed that matches will be broadcast live on digital platforms, with enhanced coverage and fan engagement initiatives planned throughout the season. The league is expected to kick off in December 2025, with fixtures and venues to be announced shortly.
The IWL continues to play a pivotal role in developing women’s football in India, and the new schedule reflects AIFF’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, professionalism, and long-term growth in the sport.
