Baramulla Police on Thursday arrested 12 persons for their alleged involvement in gambling activities during a series of raids conducted at multiple locations in the district. The arrests were made as part of an intensified drive against social crimes.
According to police officials, stake money amounting to a significant sum was seized from the spot, along with several vehicles used by the accused. All recovered materials have been taken into police custody as evidence.
Police said that FIRs have been registered at concerned police stations, and further investigation is underway. The Baramulla Police reaffirmed their commitment to curbing unlawful activities and urged the public to report any such incidents in their areas.
