Srinagar, Nov 27: Airtel Managing Director has cautioned users against linking their primary bank accounts directly for UPI payments, warning that it may increase the risk of digital fraud. The official urged users to consider using secondary accounts or wallets for everyday transactions to enhance security.
Speaking on digital payment safety, the Airtel MD highlighted the growing sophistication of cyber fraud and phishing attacks, emphasizing the need for vigilance while conducting online transactions. Users were advised to regularly monitor transaction alerts, avoid sharing OTPs, and use secure devices for financial activities.
The statement also encouraged banks and payment service providers to educate customers on safe practices, strengthen authentication measures, and implement fraud detection systems to protect users in the rapidly expanding digital payment ecosystem.
