The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has issued a strong statement condemning Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and judiciary over alleged legal manipulation in cases involving Baloch activists. The committee accused authorities of misusing legal procedures to suppress dissent and undermine civil liberties in Balochistan.
According to the BYC, recent detentions and judicial actions reflect a pattern of coercion and procedural irregularities, raising concerns about due process and transparency. The group claimed that fabricated charges and delayed trials are being used to target individuals advocating for Baloch rights.
In its statement, the BYC called on national and international human rights organizations to investigate the alleged violations and hold responsible institutions accountable. The committee emphasized the need for judicial independence and lawful conduct in handling politically sensitive cases.
The allegations come amid growing tensions in the region, where civil society groups continue to demand greater autonomy, justice, and protection of fundamental rights. Pakistani authorities have yet to respond publicly to the BYC’s claims.
