Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav has accused the Congress party of spreading misinformation regarding the Supreme Court’s recent verdict on the Aravalli hills. He stated that the opposition was deliberately misrepresenting the judgment to mislead the public and create confusion over environmental and developmental issues.
Yadav clarified that the Supreme Court’s ruling was aimed at ensuring stricter protection of the fragile Aravalli ecosystem, while also balancing developmental needs. He emphasized that the government remains committed to safeguarding the environment and implementing sustainable policies in line with judicial directives.
The Minister alleged that Congress leaders were distorting facts about the verdict to politicize the issue, instead of supporting efforts to preserve the ecological integrity of the Aravalli range. He urged the opposition to refrain from spreading false narratives and to engage constructively in environmental conservation.
Yadav highlighted that the Aravalli hills are critical for maintaining ecological balance in northern India, serving as a natural barrier against desertification and supporting biodiversity. He reiterated that the government’s policies are aligned with the Supreme Court’s directions to prevent illegal mining and encroachment in the region.
The remarks come amid heightened political debate over environmental governance, with the Aravalli verdict sparking discussions on balancing ecological preservation with urban expansion. The issue is expected to remain a focal point in upcoming political exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition.
