President of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, Pempa Tsering, has alleged that China is deliberately alienating the younger generation from their Tibetan identity. He stated that nearly one million children and young adults are being placed in boarding schools where Chinese is the medium of instruction, cutting them off from their language, culture, and religious sentiments.
Tsering warned that Tibetan Buddhist institutions are under increasing pressure due to policies aimed at Sinicization, and described China’s actions as a calculated attempt to eliminate Tibetan identity. He emphasized that this is not merely a human rights issue but a question of the survival of a people.
Calling for global support, Tsering urged the international community to stand against cultural erasure and safeguard Tibet’s traditions, language, and religious freedom.
