The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has set up a Special Control Room in New Delhi to monitor the evolving situation in West Asia and coordinate assistance for Indian nationals in the Gulf region. The move comes amid escalating tensions that have disrupted travel and raised concerns for the safety of expatriates.
Officials confirmed that dedicated helpline numbers and email contacts have been released to facilitate communication with stranded passengers and families seeking updates. The control room will operate round-the-clock to provide guidance, track developments, and liaise with Indian missions abroad.
The MEA emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of Indian citizens overseas during times of crisis. The ministry also urged travelers to stay in touch with airlines and consulates for verified information and assistance.
Authorities noted that the Special Control Room will remain active until the situation stabilizes, ensuring continuous support for the large Indian diaspora across the Gulf region.
