Union Minister Pralhad Joshi stated that India has emerged as one of the world’s top producers of non-fossil fuel capacity, underscoring the country’s rapid strides in renewable energy. He highlighted that India’s expansion in solar, wind, hydro, bioenergy, and nuclear power has positioned it as a global leader in clean energy generation.
Joshi emphasized that India’s diversified energy portfolio not only strengthens energy security but also reduces dependence on fossil fuels, aligning with the nation’s climate commitments under the Paris Agreement. He noted that India’s achievements reflect its vision of becoming a sustainable energy hub by 2047 under the Viksit Bharat plan.
The minister added that India’s proactive policies, record capacity additions, and international collaborations have enabled the country to rank among the top three globally in installed renewable energy capacity, trailing only China and the United States.
