India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s remarks made during the ASEAN forum, calling them baseless, unwarranted and an attempt to misrepresent facts. New Delhi said such comments were not in line with the spirit of regional cooperation and should not be used to divert attention from important issues.
Responding to Pakistan’s statements, Indian officials said the allegations lacked credibility and reiterated that India remains committed to promoting peace, stability and development in the region. They stressed that international platforms should focus on cooperation and constructive dialogue rather than unsubstantiated claims.
India said it will continue to firmly counter any attempts to spread misinformation or create a misleading narrative against the country. Officials maintained that India’s approach towards regional engagement is guided by mutual respect, transparency and shared progress.
The response came after Pakistan raised issues concerning India during discussions at the ASEAN platform. India rejected the remarks and said such attempts were aimed at diverting attention from the real challenges facing the region.
New Delhi further highlighted that regional forums like ASEAN play an important role in strengthening economic ties, security cooperation and people-to-people connections among nations. India called for maintaining the focus on peace, stability and collective growth.
India reiterated that it will continue to engage with partner countries while safeguarding its national interests and responding appropriately to any statements that undermine facts or promote false narratives.
