The Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district, killing one terrorist. Troops detected suspicious movement near the Jhangar area on March 10, 2026, and swiftly engaged the infiltrators.
According to officials, two terrorists attempted to cross into Indian territory. In the ensuing exchange, one was neutralized while the other managed to escape. A search operation is underway to track the second infiltrator.
Recovered items from the encounter include an AK rifle, pistols, grenades, magazines, mobile phone, Pakistani identity cards, and currency. The evidence points to cross-border sponsorship of the infiltration attempt.
The Army stated that the operation was carried out with precision to prevent any breach of the LoC. Security forces remain on high alert in the sector, with surveillance and intelligence inputs guiding further action.
