External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will visit Mauritius from April 9–10, 2026, to attend the 9th Indian Ocean Conference and deliver the keynote address. His speech will highlight India’s Neighbourhood First policy, Vision MAHASAGAR, and commitment to the Global South.
During his stay in Mauritius, Dr. Jaishankar will meet the country’s leadership to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations. He will also hold discussions with counterparts from other participating nations, focusing on maritime cooperation, regional security, and ocean governance.
On April 11–12, 2026, Dr. Jaishankar will travel to the United Arab Emirates for an official visit. He will meet UAE leaders to review the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, covering trade, energy, technology, and diaspora engagement. The visit comes at a sensitive time amid Middle East tensions, with India welcoming the recent US–Iran ceasefire.
The twin visits underscore India’s growing role in regional diplomacy, balancing strategic interests in the Indian Ocean and West Asia. They also reaffirm India’s leadership in the Global South and its commitment to strengthening partnerships with key allies.
