India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent air strikes on Afghan territory, calling them a blatant act of aggression that undermines regional peace and stability.
The MEA stated that the strikes, which reportedly killed dozens of civilians including women and children, represent a serious violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and international norms.
India expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and reiterated its unwavering support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
According to reports, Pakistan claimed the strikes targeted militant hideouts in Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces, while the Taliban government asserted that civilian homes were destroyed, leaving 36 civilians dead and 163 injured. The UN mission in Afghanistan confirmed at least 28 civilian deaths and 49 injuries.
India emphasized that Pakistan’s actions reflect a persistent pattern of reckless behaviour, attempting to externalize internal failures through violence beyond its borders.
The condemnation adds to the diplomatic fallout, as both Kabul and Islamabad summoned each other’s envoys to lodge protests, while international bodies including UNICEF voiced concern over the targeting of civilians, especially children.
