Jammu, May 29: Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has announced the addition of extra coaches to two trains to provide greater convenience to passengers during the summer rush. The move is aimed at reducing waiting lists and ensuring more confirmed tickets for travelers.
Officials confirmed that the Jammu Tawi–New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12426) will be augmented with one Third AC (3AC) coach from June 6 to June 12, 2026. Similarly, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi Express (04082) will be provided with one Sleeper Class coach from June 6 to June 13, 2026.
The decision comes in response to rising passenger demand during peak travel season. Northern Railway emphasized that passenger convenience remains its top priority, and such measures are taken to ensure smoother journeys.
Passengers can book tickets for the additional coaches through all reservation centers and the IRCTC website. For real-time updates, travelers may also contact the railway helpline at 139 or check the National Train Enquiry System (NTES).
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal stated that the augmentation will provide relief to thousands of passengers and reaffirm Northern Railway’s commitment to enhancing travel facilities.
