AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday launched a sharp attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of promoting divisive politics and fuelling communal polarisation in the state.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Owaisi said the politics practiced by the Assam government was harming social harmony and undermining the constitutional values of equality and justice. He alleged that minorities were being targeted through selective actions and inflammatory rhetoric.
Presenting the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen as an antidote to communalism, Owaisi said his party stands for inclusive politics and the protection of constitutional rights for all citizens, irrespective of religion or community.
The AIMIM chief asserted that his party would continue to raise its voice against what he described as injustice, discrimination and misuse of power. He said democratic opposition was essential to safeguard India’s pluralistic character.
Owaisi also appealed to people to support forces that believe in unity and social justice, stating that the country’s strength lies in its diversity and mutual respect among communities.
