Bhopal, October 10: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan accused Opposition parties of undermining constitutional institutions and eroding public confidence in democracy. Addressing a press conference in Bhopal, he alleged that foreign powers were supporting these efforts.
Criticising the INDIA bloc, Chouhan claimed that its leaders were resorting to street agitation because they had failed to secure voters’ trust. He contrasted their approach with what he described as public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India.
Chouhan also targeted Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of favouring foreign interests. He further alleged that Opposition parties were uncomfortable with the progress of Indian entrepreneurs.
Referring to by-election results in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry, the minister described the BJP and NDA’s victories as an endorsement of Modi’s leadership and development agenda. He said the results reflected voters’ commitment to building a developed India.
The remarks represent Chouhan’s allegations against the Opposition. The report did not include a response from the INDIA bloc or Rahul Gandhi.
