Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense announced on November 16, 2025, that it detected 30 Chinese military aircraft and eight ships operating around the island. Seventeen of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s northern, central, southwestern, and eastern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
In response, Taiwan deployed aircraft and naval vessels and activated coastal-based missile systems to monitor Chinese movements. The ministry emphasized that it continues to closely track and respond to such activities, which have become increasingly frequent in recent months.
Officials noted that China’s actions reflect ongoing “gray zone tactics” aimed at pressuring Taiwan without direct confrontation. The latest maneuvers underscore rising tensions in the region and highlight Taiwan’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and security.
