Delhi Traffic Police has announced restrictions in central Delhi on January 22, 2026, between 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM due to rehearsals for the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk.
Vijay Chowk will remain closed for general traffic during the rehearsal hours. Raisina Road from Krishi Bhawan roundabout towards Vijay Chowk and stretches between Vijay Chowk and Rafi Marg (towards Kartavya Path crossing) will also be restricted.
Traffic will not be allowed from Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg and Sunehri Masjid roundabouts towards Vijay Chowk. Commuters are advised to plan travel accordingly and use alternate routes around India Gate, Connaught Place and Mandi House.
The restrictions are part of security and ceremonial arrangements ahead of Republic Day celebrations, with rehearsals continuing until the Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29.
