Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that high-resolution cameras and artificial intelligence tools helped authorities quickly track down the culprits who pelted stones at the Vande Bharat train in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident had sparked concern over passenger safety and damage to the modern train service.
Vaishnaw explained that surveillance systems installed along the route, combined with AI-based monitoring, enabled investigators to identify those responsible within hours. “Technology is playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety of passengers and railway property,” he noted.
The minister added that strict action will be taken against those involved, stressing that such acts of vandalism will not be tolerated. He said the government is committed to protecting the Vande Bharat trains, which symbolize India’s push towards modern, high-speed rail travel.
Railway officials confirmed that the damaged train was repaired promptly and services resumed without disruption. They highlighted that advanced monitoring systems are being expanded across routes to deter similar incidents in the future.
