Beijing, Nov 23: China has formally communicated its position to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres regarding recent remarks made by Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Kishida, which Beijing described as erroneous and misleading.
In its letter, China emphasized that the statements made by the Japanese leader distort historical facts and undermine the principles of the UN Charter. The communication reiterated China’s stance on safeguarding sovereignty, territorial integrity, and regional stability.
Chinese officials noted that the remarks risk escalating tensions and misrepresenting the international consensus on key issues. The letter urged the United Nations to remain vigilant against attempts to politicize historical matters and to uphold fairness and objectivity in global discourse.
China reaffirmed its commitment to constructive dialogue within the UN framework, while stressing that any misrepresentation of history or international law must be addressed to preserve peace and mutual respect among member states.
