Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday paid solemn tribute to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) martyrs on the occasion of Valour Day. The day commemorates the bravery of CRPF personnel who laid down their lives defending the nation during the 1965 battle at Sardar Post in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch.
Addressing the gathering, Shah lauded the courage and sacrifice of CRPF jawans, describing them as the backbone of India’s internal security. He emphasized that the force has consistently demonstrated valor in combating terrorism, insurgency, and maintaining peace across the country.
The Home Minister highlighted the CRPF’s role in safeguarding democratic institutions and ensuring the safety of citizens, noting that their sacrifices will forever inspire future generations. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the force with modern equipment, training, and welfare measures.
Valour Day is observed annually on April 9 to honor the supreme sacrifice of CRPF personnel, and this year’s tribute underscored the nation’s gratitude to its brave defenders who continue to serve with dedication and resilience.
