New Delhi, October 14: India has called for an immediate halt to attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its support for the kingdom’s people and government amid the recent violence.
At a media briefing on Wednesday, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned the attack on Saudi Aramco’s headquarters a day earlier. He described such strikes as unacceptable and said India stood with Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty. He also expressed hope that peace and normalcy would return to the region soon.
Providing an update on Indian nationals, Jaiswal said the embassy in Riyadh was maintaining regular contact with the Indian community to support their welfare. Advisories have also been issued to help nationals respond to the situation.
He said the attack on Riyadh’s international airport had affected flight schedules, including services operated by Indian airlines. Several Saudi carriers, however, continued to run flights between the two countries.
