The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will present its Republic Day 2026 tableau in New Delhi with the theme “Handicrafts and Folk Dances of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The tableau will highlight the region’s centuries-old craftsmanship, including papier-mâché, wood carving, Pashmina weaving, and carpet making, alongside vibrant folk dances representing both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Officials confirmed that only artists from the Union Territory will participate, ensuring authenticity and local representation. The tableau reflects cultural pride and artistic excellence, showcasing J&K’s rich legacy on Kartavya Path.
Last year, J&K’s tableau depicted scenic beauty and cultural heritage, while this year’s focus shifts to artistic traditions and performing arts, reinforcing the Union Territory’s identity as a hub of creativity and heritage.
