A Delhi court has sent Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) handler Shabir Ahmed Lone to seven-day judicial custody in connection with a money laundering case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) produced Lone before the court, seeking his remand in the ongoing investigation. After hearing arguments, the court ordered his judicial custody for a week.
Lone is accused of handling funds linked to terror financing and channeling money through hawala networks to support LeT operations in India.
Investigators claim that Lone played a key role in coordinating financial transactions for the banned outfit, and fresh evidence has emerged during the probe.
The case highlights the ED’s intensified crackdown on terror financing networks and underscores the judiciary’s role in monitoring high-profile investigations.
